課程概述

This course offers an introduction to some of the fundamental questions, methods, and issues in ethnomusicology. Topics include musical ontology, participatory musical practices, and research ethics. Finally, we consider how ethnomusicology may decolonize 

課程目標
students will be able to
discuss the history of ethnomusicology in relationship to their own research projects
compare and contrast theories for thinking about what music is and how it functions socially
develop skills in ethnographic research through small-scale research projects
